Marske United

Charles Dickens visited the village of Marske-by-the-Sea to see the graves of Captain Cook’s parents. The turrets of the nearby Marske Hall, a short walk from Marske United’s Mount Pleasant, are said to have inspired some of his descriptions in A Tale of Two Cities.
